Recovery after a stroke can continue for months, and the type and pace of support usually needs to change along the way.
The first weeks home
This is usually the highest-need period - help with mobility, transfers, and daily self-care, plus close attention to any new or worsening symptoms, which should prompt an immediate call to the doctor. This is exactly what our Transition Care level is built for.

Rehabilitation therapies
Physical, occupational, and speech therapy each address different effects of stroke — movement, daily task performance, and communication or swallowing, respectively. Progress often continues well past the initial recovery window with consistent therapy.
The emotional side of recovery
Depression and frustration are common after a stroke, for both the survivor and the family. Support groups and honest conversation about the pace of recovery help more than pushing too hard, too fast.
